Interested in enabling local delivery via DoorDash for your customers?
We have the functionality to enable local delivery via DoorDash within our platform. This only applies to some retailers, not all so this might automatically be an option for you. To find out if you are eligible for this feature, please contact your AccelPay Account Manager.
How it works:
Each retailer that is set up with this feature has a set amount of zip codes surrounding their store that are available for local delivery. They also have a set timeframe from which this feature is an option for customers. If a customer is checking out within the correct timeframe and to a specific zip code, they will automatically see an additional shipping option at checkout titled local delivery. The customer can then choose between shipping or local delivery.
The local delivery option is automatic meaning there is no option to schedule the delivery. It will happen immediately following placing the order. The DoorDash driver gets notified of the order and drives to the retailer to pick up the item to then deliver to the customer.
To enable this feature you must include verbiage on your website to explain that the order will be immediate, that it cannot be scheduled and that someone needs to be home that is over 21 years of age to be able to sign for the package otherwise the DoorDash driver will return the item back to the retailer.
